Hi, Im planning to rebuild my RAID setup, at the moment I got 2 maxtor 120 (PATA) in RAID 0 but the other is being flaky so im looking to get 4 of small drive to RAID.Any suggestions im looking into these Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 160GB SATA-II 8MB is this a good drive? what is your experience with this? or is it better to get 2 WD 320gb drive.I hear they are fast drive.

4 small discs quadruples the probablity of failure.

If you can live with that then that's fine.

The Seagate 7200.11 320Gbyte have the best areal density on a single platter, so will give better transfer rates than anything smaller.

I never really thought that anything bigger than a two disk array was worthwhile in performance terms for normal/gaming usage. The gains in transfer speeds are balance by an increase in access times, so unless you are mainly doing very large sequential reads, stick with two drives, any of the 320Gb single platter drives will work well.
