Hey Guys,

I built my computer 2 years ago. The motherboard I used for it was a MSI p67a-gd65 p67. This was one of the boards that has the degrading SATA ports problem. Of course, they have now died...

Can anyone recommend me a good replacement board? I am looking to spend £70-£150 on a good solid board.

My computer specs are

SandyBridge i7 2600k Unlocked CPU
950w Be Quiet PSU
2x ATI Raedon 6950s crossfire (So will need a crossfire board)
1x Black Magic intensity pro
16gb Corsair Vengeance RAM
1x 60gb SSD
2x 1Tb HDDs

The lot has died :(

Unfortunately, no.

:(

Had a Msi P67A GD65 board myself - still running fortunately - now at the core of my sons desktop.

Decided to change as the board and my ocz vertex 3 would not play nicely together and fancied a play with something new.

Decided I wanted a 'newer' chipset

One hell of a lot of choice ; too much to be honest

Due to my own fault(s) managed to break a 2nd hand AsRock Z68 board and could not get a new one of the same type to work so decided to go with Asus and wanting the 5yr warranty went with the Z77 Sabertooth (despite? the fact that I'm running an i2700K cpu) No problems and am very pleased. Only drawback is the cost

If I was buying now and considered the Saber too expensive then all that I've read would lead me to go for either

Asus Maximus V Gene

or Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H

both of which do appear to be popular and get decent user reviews.

Funny enough the board I had in mind was the Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H - I'm glad you said that, I can now buy it :D
