Recommend me a mouse

What is the durability like on the deathadder, because from what I have heard Razer products aren't very durable.

Had mine over for over five years now and it is as good as new, my Razer Lycosa keyboard did not fair so well, though that is a different story.

I had an MX518 for years and loved it! Finally gave up the ghost a few months ago and I replaced it with the G500. Both great mice, but I think I prefer the G500.

I think mouse choice is down to personal preference as people hold their mice in different ways, have bigger / smaller hands, need more buttons, higher dpi, faster response times etc etc...

I use a Deathadder as I like the shape of the intelli explorer
Some people prefer the shape of the Logitech MX518

I think the longest lasting mice I've had are: Razer Diamondback (5+years), Deathadder 1800dpi (3years + still working)
I had a MX500 that lasted 6months :(

Current mouse is a Razer Deathadder Respawn running at 1800dpi, 1000hz & mousefix reg in windows7.

Razer mice are pants with regards build quality

Utter bull. Please try and tone down personal bias when giving advice.

Either get a Deathadder or a G5/400 depending on which style of mouse you prefer the Deathadder is much less lower profile in design whereas the Logitechs are designed to be held fully in the hand, they are very different but both superb.

Personally I never got on well with the Logitech design so I went with the Deathadder (Now a Mamba).

Durability for the Razer is good, it is one of the best made mouses i ever used. If your lucky you may nab a brand new one for a cheap price, iirc i was lucky to get one around £17, so worth looking around :)

The Logitech MX518 and the updated G400 are quality mouses as well, used them before my current deathadder. They have good build quality and also excellent ergonomics, only con that made me switch was at the time, all /most Logitech mice had auto correct / mouse prediction / angle snapping. It basically auto corrects (straightens) your movements for you. It can by very annoying and can cause u miss which is crucial in fps shooters. Which Razer Deathadder doesnt have. Unfortunately there is no fix for this nor can you flash the firmware for it.

Good news is Logitech has finally addressed this, the newer G400 mice have Auto correct / mouse predication removed (finally), as long as the PID is higher than LZ13333 apparantly will be fine.

Hope that helps

What is so good about the Deathadder?

I have a G400, setting the DPI to 3600 is way too high so dont really see the point in 6000. To me ergonomics and build quality are the most important thing. Cant say for Razor products but the G400 is made very well

Although so far I have found Logitech build quality better than Razer (only one mouse from either brand), I certainly wouldn't say in my experience that the Razer was poor. As mentioned a few posts above, I prefer the lower profile design to the Deathadder, too.

Steelseries Sensei RAW.

I know people love their Razer stuff and I have also owned some, but once you get the feel of the quality of a Steelseries product you will never go back.

MX518 definately, had mine for like 7 years, been dropped on hard floors countless times and has taken quite a beating from too me but its still going strong. When the day comes and it breaks i know il be getting another straight away, if they still make them that is. :)

I went for the Logitech MX518 around a year back after seeing recommendations on here, wasn't disappointed! Just feels perfect in the hand.

Had a Logitech MX518 for years but am having real problems with twitch-based games like Black Ops II lately. My MX518 is pretty battered and have had a SteelSeries 4HD for years, but I'm finding when I'm trying to get really quick precision shots that the mouse is "dragging" and I end up missing. Quite fancy giving a DeathAdder a go for a bit of a change - can anyone recommend a good mousemat as a partner for a DA? I play FPS mostly. Thanks.

So now I'm torn between the MX518, deathadder and g500 but since the g500 looks like an upgrade of the MX518 I think it's really between the G500 and Razer Deathadder. Would I be to picky in saying I want red LED's on it?

If you know anyone with either or mice close to those 2 then i suggest you try them both first. Razer might be very good but i really hate the feel when using them, they always feel too light and flimsy compared to Logitech.

mx518 >> best mouse evah!! Logitech really knows their **** when it comes to mice and keyboards + have great customer service
