Recommend me a new LED torch

Just took delivery of my 2xAA Maglite LED. I'm sure theres better out there for £15 but i'm happy with the output and the beam uniformity and spread.

All I really want it for is for pottering about in the shed and camping etc and the odd bike ride up through the park for which it is more than capable.

Well Ive sent mine back this morning and now I'm just awaiting delivery of the new model with pocket clip and my second free gift :D.

This LED lenser is definitely borked, i charged up 3 Vapex instant batteries and they lasted less than 30 mins :(.

FFS, i must be the most unlucky person in the world. The whole reason i wanted to pay £45 on a torch is so it would actually work this time, unlike my lenser that didn't hold charge.

Now i get a torch that is supposed to be decent and the button inflates after a few mins usage :mad::mad:.

CBA sending it back again.

Excuse the voices in the background, i was working in a house full of kids lol.

Anyone got any idea why its doing this?

I think I'm just jinxed when it comes to things like this. Its a miracle if i buy something that works flawlessly lol. Well I'm pretty disappointed as i thought Fenix was one of the best led torch makes about.

It seems to only do it when the batteries start to get low. I cant see any reason for it happening though, unless the switch starts to warm up and thats causing it. The torch gets quite warm and it doesn't do it but then as soon as the main beam goes off and it switches to the medium power it does it.

I'd have been better off just getting one of the £12 ones lol.

Guess I'll have to get a new switch?

I got mine a couple of days ago and I have to say I'm pretty happy with it for the money. I was surprised by just how small it is but it seems pretty well made as well.

I've got a couple of incandescent maglites, a 2xAA one and a 4D one. It's way brighter than the 2xAA one, with fresh batteries in both. I don't have spare batteries for the 4D one but it gives a similar level of illumination as the K-106.

I'm happy with it, but then I've not used any other LED torches to compare it with so your mileage may vary.

Nice one, i think I'll grab a few of them and give them to family as presents :D. Wish i had just got one of them instead of this now, although saying that I'm really impressed with the LD20 in terms of brightness and battery run time. Its just this inflating button issue thats annoying. Makes it useless in the upright position.
