Recommend me a RAID Controller for RAID5 (3x1tb)

Hi guys

I am wanting to set up a 3 hard drive Raid5 setup.

My mobo is a GA-P35-DS3P should i use the onbaord RAID or should i buy a dedicated card?

if card, anyone recommend me a relatively cheap card to support 3 SATA hard drives? doesn't need to be flash, just needs to work and be reliable.

If you don't need high write speeds I would just use the ICH9R on your DS3P, or if that is important get yourself a Dell Perc 5i of ebay, a lot of good info can be found Here
 
Use the onboard. To get quality hardware raid is at least £100 most of the cheaper ones use software raid. The major benifit of hardware is that the array should be safer
Your board supports upto 6 hdd in raid on the ICHR9 iirc Avoid the jm slots :)

i plan to use the RAID array for my data and my SSD for my windows.
