Hi my washing machine sounds like a concrete mixer think its dieing and its time for a replacement, any suggestions around the £300 price range ?

I have a Hotpoint (wouldn't be my first choice) but it's extremely quiet, you only know it's on when you hear it filling.

Don't think you can get an LG Direct Drive for £300....

thanks for suggestions

I had a hot point and spent 500+ on it, it was terrible only just a bit more silent then the old cheap one we had before despite the claims the hotpoint claimed to be silent and even then it lasted only few years.

Was considering LG F12B8QDA @ £330 with direct drive but it lacks 30 degrees wash option which is what most people complained about so will keep checking around.

I bought this recently, really impressed at how quiet it is! even has nfc.....

thanks I do love that Lg over the one I was looking which was 320quid+has direct drive.

But the model you linked is £450 but has spin cycle and 30degrees wash which are important, like the fact it also has a 10 year warranty but I think that is only on the direct drive itself, 2 years for the other bits.

lgs site is misleading since it clearly says 10 years on direct drive + all parts, but jlw and currys both different!

I bought this LG 12KG TRUESTEAM washing machine last year and love it (Never would have thought I could get to like a washing machine )

This one Way over your budget but it would be well worth saving up for one the lower models..

Another vote for an LG with Direct Drive, I've got this exact machine as well and it's fantastic. I've got an open plan Kitchen/Diner/Utility and the machine is super quiet, we can sit and have a family meal at one end of the room and the machine can be on at the other and we are not be overlay disturbed by it

Jamal. hi do you know how much extended warranty cost with lg the one after the 2 years is up ?

Just wondering if lg offer it at good prices I read the direct drive comes with 10 years at least.

No budget - the best Miele you can afford
Your budget - the best LG Direct drive you can afford

Remember, you need to realise cheaper now does not equal cheaper long term. The Miele will almost certainly outlast the LG. Depending on how far that is, shows which has the lowest total cost of ownership.

We bought a Miele last year, just before our son was born. I imagine he will leave home before the washer dies.

LG and even Samsung has been coming up with some competitive appliance-type products but I just haven't seen enough from them to trust that they are doing it right. I'd go with what I know and that is Bosch. I've got a 7 kg - 1000 rpm Bosch Avantixx and it is the quietest washing machine I've seen in my life. You should be able to find a decent Bosch in £300-£400 range. I'd allocate the extra £100 to get a good washing machine instead of take risk with LG.

We have a Miele washing machine, dishwasher and tumble dryer......my wife tells me. The only noise i hear is when they finish their cycle and then they beep and she has to go and turn them off....or drive home from work when I call to turn them off.

;)
