Recommend me a Windproof Fleece Jacket

Ive been using a berghaus fleece for a year now, awesome jacet, its windproof but its getting on a bit now.

I cant seem to find the model of it anywhere so cant search for it on the net and all the online places that ive searched don't seem to have this jacket for sale any more

so im after another fleece which is windproof.

anyone suggest any?

I've just bought a North Face Summit Series

With an RRP of £180 (I got it for £162) it aint cheap, but so far seems to be one of the best and most well made outdoor jackets i've ever bought.

could you post some real life pics of it please? is it fleecy type material?

also is the hood detachable?

I've had this Jack Wolfskin (black) for years now. Great jacket. Made with 100% windproof GORE WINDSTOPPER® fleece.

It appears Cotswold Outdoor does it for 140 quid.

it all depends what style you want

the new style soft shell fleeces are thinner, windproof and will withstand a bit of rain as well

then you have the windstopper fleeces

I do a lot of fishing..and the fishing gear seems cheaper than the walking gear even the materials are the same

softshell fleeces start about 70 quid

I have a softshell fleece for summer fishing as they are light and shower proof and a thicker windstopper fleece for the winter that goes under the water proof if it starts to tip down

I'm a bit of a TNF whore - got 3 shells (XCR ski jacket, Hyvent winter coat, Paclite waterproof for rucksack), 2 fleeces (normal one and Pamir windstopper) and a down jacket. That's what comes from working near a TNF shop

Retired mine to DIY duty and got a new Mountain Equipment one, but despite being abused for years it still looks in better nick than the ME fleece.

the Mountain Hardwear - Windstopper tech fleece is supposed to be excellent, made a bid for one but lost by a few quid

I bought a Regatta soft shell which is windproof, shower proof, and really warm for twenty quid. It's grey and black and does the job nicely.
