As per the title can anyone recommend any comedy or debate programmes that the Missus and I can listen to while we're working?

Yep, listen to, so comedy wise I'm looking at radio only...anything from Radio 4 to podcasts and sketch shows...anything you can think of really!
I know of:

Radio 4 - I'm sorry I haven't a clue
Radio 4 - The News quiz
BBC 1 - Mock The Week

For debate programmes it doesn't really matter if it's audio or TV as you are only listening to them...so far I've only really thought of:

Question Time
Radio 2 - Jeremy Vine
Radio 4 - Any Questions
Channel 5 - The Wright Stuff

Any suggestions will be greatly received!

Thanks very much. :)

Comedy:

Hut 33
Cabin Pressure
John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme
The Goon Show
Dad's Army
The Hitch-Hikers Guide To The Galaxy
Flywheel, Shyster and Flywheel
I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again
The Navy Lark
Yes Minister/ Yes Prime Minister
The Mary Whitehouse Experience
Round The Horne
I've Never Seen Star Wars
Hancock's Half Hour
Whose Line Is IT Anyway
You'll Have Had Your Tea?
Can't Tell Nathan Caton Nothing
Lee and Herring's Fist Of Fun
Old Harry's Game

.....

Errr... I listen to way too much radio comedy.

The 7 day sunday/saturday podcasts with al murray, radio 5 run during the summer are great for what you're after.

You could try the bugle podcast with andy zaltzman. Not heard it myself, but he's one of the more prominent guests on the show.

Adam and Joe XFM podcasts. These are truly top quality.
Sean Locks 15 Storeys High radio series.
On The Hour - Chris Morris

Nebulous. 3 series starring Mark Gatis. It was brilliant!...really wish they had made the TV series they were going to. Mark Gatiss is really good in the lead, and David Warner is great as his nemesis as well. There are also some really good guest appearances.

I though it was hilarious!

Also, On The Hour(radio version of The Day Today, and much better!) is brilliant as well!
Think The Unthinkable is worth a listen as well imo.

Some great R4 comedy suggestions so far; here are some more...

Panel Shows:
The Unbelievable Truth [quickly becoming my favourite panel show, even above ISIHAC and JAM!]
Heresy
The Museum Of Curiosity
It's Not What You Know
So Wrong It's Right

Sitcom/Sketch/Spoken Word:
Bleak Expectations
That Mitchell & Webb Sound [much better on radio than TV]
Mark Thomas: The Manifesto [and also the one-off 'Bravo Figaro' if you can find it]
Mark Steel's In Town
Meet David Sedaris
Tom Wrigglesworth's Open Letters [His Virgin Trains one is wonderful]
Down The Line
Elvenquest
Jeremy Hardy Speaks To The Nation

Mark Steel's In Town

I agree, and in additions, The Mark Steel Lectures(people with a passion or something) are great as well. In particular the ones about WG Grace, Charlie Chaplin and Muhammad Ali imo.

Another few I thought of too-

The Boosh(far superior to the TV show imo)
Chambers- 3 series, and I really liked them, and the TV show tbh.

Oh yes, had forgotten about his lectures, good call :)

And after reading about Nebulous, I definitely need to track that down for a listen. Ta!

Thanks for all the replies folks (sorry for the delayed response), there are some brilliant suggestions there, I shall have to start investigating!

Does anyone have any suggestions for debate style programmes?

Cheers! :D

+1. You can find loads of past series' on t'net somewhere. Is it still going? Not heard it live for a while.

Also for a debate programme, The Big Questions on BBC1 Sunday morning is good, especially if you're hungover. Always at least one religious themed question which can make things more entertaining or boring. Depends what nutcases you get on the panel.
