I say recommend me some Dance Music, because I don't know what else to call it, but there are a number of groups listed below I enjoy...

I know nothing about club music, so would appreciate some education...

I just like listening to it when on the underground, etc, but don't know where to go...

Some stuff I like:

Prodigy
Saint Germain
Stars of the Lid
Orbital...

Stuff you hear on Radio 1 on a Friday night....

What could I get to get some structure to my listening?

Buy Leftfield-Leftism
Cool call - thier 2nd one is also a classic. Very orbital like...

The thing is, saying "dance music" is like saying "rock music" these says... There's so many different sorts, from cheesy chart-house to crazy breakcore...

Just listen to as many different sorts as you can, and try an remember the names of ther artists you like... That's what I do.

Also, buy:

Laurant Garnier - Unreasonable Behaviour

Another classic IMO

Underworld-Dubnobasswithmyheadman

Underworld-Second Toughest in the Infants

Higher Intelligence Agency - Colourform

Spring Heel Jack - There are Strings

:)

I'm currently checking out some tunes on DJ Download thanks to TommyB :) (He mentioned it in the iTunes+ is a con thread)

You can listen to a good portion of the track before you buy so you can get a good feel if you like it or not. 2 minutes of it in fact.

Ceephax Acid
Wagon Christ/Luke Vibert
DJ Scotch Egg
Flashbulb

I guarantee you'll love the Pendulum - Hold your Colour album, some say it's too commercial but to a new listener you'll love it, I do, they're in my top 3 bands on last.fm, quite a lot of diversity from this d&b band too. :)

no just no

i do actually agree with some of your brash comments about some bands too but not about chem brothers

there old stuff was amazing then and still great now

As if Scott Brown is Happy Hardcore. He plays Hardcore and Gabber, much better than happy hardcore :)
