Recommend me some good sockets.

Glad to see Sealey stuff is good, i got a 1/2" socket set for £50 a while ago. I wish id of gone for a smaller size like 3/8" though as all the 1/2" torque wrenchs are 40-200nm when i need torque settings as low as 15 :(.

Could i get a 3/8" or 1/4" torque wrench and then get an adapter to fit my 1/2" sockets to it?

Are Draper a good make for torque wrenchs?

I used to hate 3/8" but it was all I could get at the time and it's been fine. Now I find the 1/2" a bit cumbersome for a lot of jobs. For big stuff like head bolts the 3/8" extension bar twists a bit but my tirque wrench is a 1/2"

Only problem is Sealey use some stupid plastic mould thing to hold all the sockets which lasts about 5 mins :|
I agree, the plastic tray sort of spoils an otherwise top quality product

I may look into getting a 3/8" set sometime soon too but the main thing for me now is to get my 1/2" and 1/4" sorted. Is it sad that I am looking forward to using them to see what they are like. :D Right now I have been using a cheap socket set from the 70's handed down from my Dad.

Not sad at all! Looking forward to no more rounded off heads, no more split knuckles, no more hammering socket over knacked nuts, that satisfying tink-tink-tink that only a new ratchet makes... Ok it is sad :D

Have you got a good selection of extension bars as well? A couple different lengths in each size plus standard and deep sockets gives you a great range of overall lengths to work with making it so much easier to get your ratchet just the right diatance away from tricky bolts to make them easy to work with.

Aye I do, got myself wobble bars to help too. Always come in handy, just needed to improve my sockets, thinking that they tend to get used about once a week probably a good idea to get some decent ones.
