Recommend me some metalcore

I wouldnt say they are metalcore but i hate classing bands by a 'genre'. I see it all as metal. Try Soilwork and In Flames.

Yeah I already have both bands and I love inflames.
I'd say they are metal.
I hate genres too. But I think that's what I'm after???

(Other metal bands I like are: Metallica, Lamb of god, Pantera, Slayer etc etc.)

Sorry I'm not being clear. I love metal. BUT, I'm after some bands like the ones I listed. Not 'metal' as such. I don't even know what I mean anymore

The only band which is xxxxcore that I like is The Dillinger Escape Plan. They're a fairly crazy mathcore band and very good.

Highly recommended by me!

I'm sure I could find out a lot more by asking all of my scene friends as they managed to supply me with most of these. But that should see you on your way.

Please note, there are really about four bands from the top list that I like but I would generally call the rest good at what they do, just not something I really relate with these days. The 2nd list I think are unforgivably rubbish, but a lot of people seem to like them...

7 Angels, 7 Plauges are pretty decent.

Cannot stand Zao though.

Haste The Day are also alright.

I would never have classed Nuclear Assault as metalcore but being one of my all time fave bands i cant recommend them enough. Get the 'Survive' album....now!

Sikth are just cack. And Blessed By A Broken Heart are actually a comedy band. Along with Bring Me The Horizon, PenKnifeLoveLife, Enter Shikari and all other similar bands.

Darkest Hour are stupidly good. Check out Death By Stereo, too - earlier stuff is more hardcorey, becomes a tad more metally as you go along. Check Shadows Fall, too.

The following aren't metalcore, but you might like: The Warriors, Boysetsfire, Comeback Kid, From Autumn To Ashes, He Is Legend, Hatebreed, Most Precious Blood, Poison The Well, Ringworm, second Story of the Year album, most recent Strung Out album, The Bronx, Thrice, possibly With Honor (newer album).

Just some general suggestions, not all as strictly classified as some of the above.

BBABH, BMTH etc are all pretty dire, as I said. Darkest Hour are pretty much my favourite metalcore band ever abd Undoing Ruin is one of my favourite albums not only of last year, but ever.

I like CBK and love BSF. FATA are rather dire live, as are PTW. Hatebreed are decent, but stupidly repedative. SOTY are utterly, unforgiveably **** and so are The Bronx (great live though). I don't mind Thrice, they don't really do anything for me. But they are good live. Most Precious Blood bore the living crap out of me as do With Honor.

Each to their own though. Every band are worth checking out.
