Looking to purchase a couple of sports films, either comedy or serious im not fussed, i have recently seen Friday Night Lights and Remember the Titans and thought they were both great, but any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

might get flamed but i liked Any Given Sunday, even though the teams were made up but the action was good I thought with excellent performances.

Agreed on Field of Dreams and I know a few people who loved Nick Hornbys Fever Pitch too :)

I wouldn't class fever pitch as a sports film, more a romantic comedy/drama with a sports background, the sports being an Arsenal Supporter.

Mean Machine
Escape to Victory
When Saturday Comes
Rocky I, II, III and IV
Raging Bull
Jerry Maguire (kinda)
White Men Can't Jump
TeenWolf
Raging Bull

Coach Carter is quite good, not as good as Remember the Titans etc. but still not bad.

Also seen this, really good film quite emotional in parts and some good young actors aswell as samuel L in there too.

Not seen any of these bar Kingpin so will give them all a look on the dvd rental site.

Thanks guys

I have to agree with 'Any Given Sunday', awesome film.

'Raging Bull' is an all time classic film though, the camera work and sheer guts and passion in that film are awesome.

One that won't be mentioned is called 'The Champions'. Its based on a true story, of a horse racing jockey called Bob Hope who fought cancer and went on to win the 1981 Grand National. Simply awesome film and under £6 at a large online retailer.

The Firm
The Hurricane

The Firm ??? John Grisham novel turned movie staring Tom Cruiser as a high flying just out of law school lawyer who uncovered his Law firm is over charging clients???

The Hurricane is more of a movie about a man had his life turned upside down from a wrongful conviction, and half about the other 3 characters faught for him for his innocence. Yes, Denzel does play a boxer (ex-boxer rather) but the theme of the movie is not a sports one.

No I expect he means the Filmfour movie starring Gary Oldman about football violence
