I want to steer away from the mass supermarket stuff and want to go "upmarket", and go toward the "Rolls Royce" and "Bentley" of tea.

I drink on the regular:
- Indian Punjabi tea (just PG Tips with herbs and spices)
- Indian Gujrati tea (just PG Tips with herbs and spices)
- Indian masala tea (just PG Tips with herbs and spices)

I've tried and liked:
- Twinings Earl Grey
- Turkish/Iranian Mint tea

So there you have it. I like to drink tea. I don't know anything about tea. Recommend me some tea.

Ta :)

Get a teapot and a big selection of loose tea and see what you like, there's so much choice out there.

I personally like Lapsang Suchong, Darjeeling, Ceylon and of course Earl Grey/Lady Grey and good old English Breakfast blends.

Get a tea explorer set?

I started off with one of those and worked out what my favourite teas were. :)

Assam, Lapsang Souchong, Ceylon, Earl Grey and Oolong are all quite nice. I like Rooibos too, it's very refreshing, but I don't know whether or not you'd class that as 'upmarket'?

Here's a fairly lengthy thread on the teas that members drink.

English Breakfast tea is tasty if you like quite strong teas, Kenya and Assam are slightly less potent but worth a try. Ceylon is relatively mild but a step above Earl Grey in terms of strength.

English Breakfast No14 is my presonal preference £17 per kilo

or

Happy Valley ********* is a first flush Darjeeling is also superb but expensive at £200 per Kg, very delicate and subtle.

both are available from Harrods in 100g increments.

In my opinion, the water is what makes or breaks a cup of tea. If you have bad water, then no tea bag will fix that
