Recommend Me Some Watercooling Parts!

Awwwwww.

The Nexxos XP is meant to be similar in performance to the Storm and better than the TDX.

Alphacool?

Already bought the TDX, but if this is the right one, I'll grab one of them as well as their dirt cheap.

Edit:-

Bought this one:-

Yep, got the barbs as well, seems it comes in two variants, one that uses the standard mount and the other (above) that uses the pillar method, so I went with that one since I'm IHSless. I hope it is the XP, certainly listed as such.

Edit:- Actually it's a Alphacool NexXxoS XP Bold AMD 64 (?)

Edit:- Just reading a review of it here.

thats a pretty top spec in that list... one thing to check is the dimensions of the PA rad if your planning to mount in internally... there quite large... if your doing it externally then u have no probs... but looks an awesome setup... it will be good.

Been out of the loop when it comes to high performance watercooling for a while now, so what's the in things? Looking for blocks that are easily available in the UK preferably.

I'm looking at potentially:-
2 120mm radiators, or 1 120mm + 1 160mm radiator (think I can fit the 160 in between the MB and the HD cage in my Stacker)
2 Pumps (preferably 12V Molex powered) (2 seperate loops for CPU/GPUs?)
GPU block for 7800GTXs
CPU block for S939

Is there any merit in going two seperate loops for the CPU and GPUs or is just as good putting them all in one loop. I was considering putting the pumps in parallel rather that series.

Ultimately I'm looking for quietness.

1. Anything in the Thermochill range. 120.2 or 120.3 would be nice. 160.1 is great too but due to it's size can be more difficult to locate in a case.
2. Got to be DD D5's (or Swiftech's exact same model).
3. Maze 4's are still regarded as the best afaik. The DD NV78's are good but RAM cooling isn't really neccessary (use some heatsinks). The new Swiftech models could be nice.
4. Swiftech G4 / Apogee or Maze 4.

Disaster, hooked it all up, marvelled at the silence when leak testing, then bang, couldn't get it to boot. Away to strip it down to the bare minimum out of the case as it seems to be the motherboard of all things.

Fans spin for a second then cut out.

if the fans spin for a second then it may be PSU. MY DFI did exactly that with a hiper 580w!

I replaced the psu after buying a new mobo and it was the same.

PSU could be trick started too with a paperclip so it was most confusing

I've had the PSU jump started so it seems to run fine, the pump making the merest murmurs. The mobo has the LED lit, but when I push the power button, the fans start then power down straight away. Going to test the MB by itself, and failing that, I may need to resort to buy a new DFI Expert.

You're right welshtom, the PSU is goosed, just tried the MB with a different CPU/RAM/GPU and it didn't work, swapped the PSU and it sprung to live. I'll see if it runs with the pump as well.

Jokester

yea, same as what happened to me then :) All points to the mobo, i even bought a replacement for it and it turned out to be the psu

Tom

Scratching my head a bit, was running for about an hour leak testing without problems (the PSU still works with just the pump). But as soon as I try to power up the system it conks out.

Must have been the unbalanced load I guess.

Edit:- New FSP 700W on order, but I'll hook up my OCZ temporarily in the meanwhile.

Try connecting a fan to the CPU header. It may be cutting out as part of what the BIOS is set to re: no fan speed (set to shut down).
