I'm looking to get some Western films for my father for Christmas but I don't know which ones.

He already has "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", "A Fistful of Dollars", "For a Few Dollars More" and "The Magnificent Seven" so any other recommendations would be welcome.

Also, preferably older Western films as he doesn't really like the newer ones.

Gunfight at the OK Corral
High Noon
Shane
The Big Country
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
How the West Was Won
The Wild Bunch
The Searchers
The Alamo
Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid
True Grit
Rooster Cogburn
Lonely Are The Brave
Little Big Man
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Once Upon A Time In The West. I'm not a huge Western fan, but I caught this on Film4 last night when channel flipping and was hooked from start to finish. Brilliant film.

The Outlaw Josey Wales, one of Clint's best imo (and he agrees).

If you like Spaghetti Westerns and fancy something a bit obscure, check out Django.

Always enjoyed "Unforgiven" although as mentioned before, more a modern western.

Still one hell of a movie worth watching regardless.

-If you get Unforgiven, make sure it's the Special Edition/Anniversary Edition version, the picture quality is really really bad on the normal version, worst DVD ever

My name is nobody
My name is still nobody
Trinity

These are quite old now and are great if you like a little bit of comedy in your western.

Definitely Unforgiven although it was made in 1992 and quite modern, if your dad likes westerns I will be amazed if he doesn't like it.

The Outlaw Josey Wales is also a masterpiece as is High Plains Drifter.
