My old 650w modular PSU has died xfx xxx edition.
I need a new modular power supply unit 700-1000w

Can you recommend me a PSU?

Preferably someone with a UK service depot.

I have never heard of seasonic brand compared to XFX or Crossair etc.

Seasonic are pretty much undisputed best PSU manufacturer and unlike Corsair and XFX, they make their own stuff. All XFX PSU's are made by seasonic, making them just as reliable. Most corsair stuff is CWT made which are okay i suppose, what isnt made by CWT is made my Seasonic.

Essentially, any decent PSU from either brand will be made by Seasonic. I would avoid corsair simply because i have had 3 Corsair PSU's die on my in the last 18 month's and though they are probably still reliable, i would rather not have to deal with their customer service's ever again.

You get what you pay for with a PSU which is Seasonic made, if your thinking of going SLI/xfire eventually, get a 750 or 850 watt depending on what GPU you have.

Like people have said Seasonic are one of the top two PSU manufacturers, the reason their name isn't well known is because until recently they didn't sell much for the enthusiast market instead making PSU's for high end servers and professional workstations and re-branded PSU's for companies like XFX/Corsair.

Corsair also have stuff made by Chicony and Flextronics (combined they make about as much of Corsairs range as Seasonic do).

The 860w can err... Provide 100W more power?

In terms of efficiency and connectors etcetera, I think they are the same.

Of course, but I was thinking if there was any difference in component wise or functionality.
