Recommend some car wash stuff.

Heres how to do it :)

1. Rinse car, ideally with a hose to get rid of surface dirt. (this gets easier once its waxed, the dirt just falls off!)

2. Use Meguiars NXT to wash the car, start at the top and work your way down. using a woolen MIT like meguiars sell makes this very easy and reduces scratches. (crappy spunges are notorious for causing scratches!)

3. Rinse with a steady flow of water. A hose without a nozel attachment is great for this, or if your in a hose pipe ban area use something like a watering can without a nozel!

4. Get the claybar out straight away! With the left over water + meguiardsquick detailer (comes with the clay bar) and work around the whole car. You can be pretty quick with this one, remember to fold the claybar whenever it gets too dirty. (for me this is when it turns a uniform light brown colour) While im doing this i use the meguiards water magnet to dry the car after claybar'n a specific area. that way i get two jobs done in one!

5. Once dry if your car is in need of a lot of tlc get the paint cleaner out and do the whole car to get rid of swirl marks.

6. then get the pure polish and work around the whole car. This will see the most difference with dark coloured cars.

7. get the carnuba wax out and work around the whole car buffing to a brilliant shine.

Meguiars sell a terry towl for the buffing, its like £15.... dont bother.
I went down to tesco and got TESCO FINEST hand towels. They were like 99p each and are large enough to do each step. I have 6 of these and they are great!

Yes as you can see im a bit of a car wash fanatic.... but imo we spend a lot of money on our cars, a bit of TLC goes a LONG way and the diffrence shows!

Btw - that full treatment is something i do maybe 1 a month. I usually just stick to a wash + wax inbetween the big ones!

To be honest I tried just about every type of shampoo etc I could lay my hands on. I now use a flash carwash system, my wifes car is dark blue and mine is black and I can wash and "dry" them both in about 1hour. I then use the megiars NXT polish if I want to, but haven't needed to do either for a while.

You can get one of the flash things for around £20 from most supermarkets or halfords and then the filter is £5 and a bottle of wash is £4 and both last for about 10-15 washes each.
