Recommendations for Cheap Macro lens (350D)

what's your budget? Extension tubes are a cheap way of turning an existing lens into a macro lens

:) DOF is quite small though..... For buying lenses, I personally think it's worth saving up to get something like the Canon 100mm macro and in the meantime spending a few quid on the above. means you get to play around and have some fun until you can afford the 100mm, and once you've got that, you'll have a kick-ass macros lens.

Not saying it's any better a choice than the above options, but what I ended up with is a Sigma 50mm macro lens. Cheaper than the 100mm's, but still delivers ace results. You have to get pretty darn close to acheive 1:1 macro, though - so it's not ideal for moving critters.
