Thinking about getting some outdoor speakers for our rear garden so just looking for recommendations.

Going to mount them on a detached garage at the end of our garden so can drill through the wall for power and to connect to an amp of some kind. Although I do like the idea of an all in one active system like the Lithe Audio iO1.

If its any help, we bought a JBL Partybox 520 speaker.
It's loud enough on 15-20% volume for a quite a large garden and no cables needed. Also IPX4, so could take a bit of rain.

We bought it for a wedding ceremony in a 200 capacity Abbey so it needs to reach the back, which is easily does on 50% volume when we tested it today. Way cheaper than paying a violinist £900 for 30 minutes which we were quoted!

I've currently got it sat on my desk, its rather large with 2 x 7.5" speakers (30" x 16" and 25.5kg) but great for listening to music with my iLoud Micro monitors providing stereo sound / high end. Not exactly a 'desktop speaker' but provides a nice room filling sound :D
Being 1 man carry, we took it back on the train to my parents for a BBQ the other week and used it for 3-4 hours at 15-20% which left 85% battery.

Thanks for the recommandation but kinda wanted something a bit more permanant. Managed to a decent deal on some Bower & Wilkins AM1 speakers so will see how I get on running them through a Sonos Connect amp.

I went B&W through a sonos amp. They are brilliant.

Have a look on a site that sells boat/marine speakers. They are obviously designed to live in the elements. We have a set of Fusion speakers on our deck.
