So after much deliberation, I'm going to go for a MATX Z87 board with a Haswell 4770K. I'm looking at a ROG GENE Z87 MATX board, or is there anything better? I was considering getting a MATX 2011 board, but I can't really see any point at the moment.

Reviews seem to suggest that it's fairly decent!

The gene and the sniper are the best Z87 matx boards.

what case is it going in? Cooler?

I'm getting the Corsair 350D and have a Corsair H100i.

Currently got a Corsair 800D/Asus P6X58D/920.

had the z77 Gene until i needed to slim down, best board i ever had. not read up on the new one but i would bet its worth the pennies if your going to use the features. I.e. OC the nuts of your chip use the onboard sound and the high quality lan card.

If your planning to use WiFi not OC and not using onboard sound then you may as well save money
