Hello

I’m hoping to get a bit of advice on a pc build.

What would be a good build to play turn based games like Divinity Original Sin 2, XCom series, Gears Tactics or Baldurs Gate 3. I’ve an ultra wide 1440p monitor and like to play on high graphic settings. No accessories/peripherals needed. Budget is around £500 or £700 max.

thanks in advance for any tips

1440p @ high details wouldn't be easy for an entry-level graphics card, though turn-based games usually have lower requirements than other games. If you can stretch to a 5600 XT, 1660 Super rather than 5500 XT, 1650 Super I think you'd be thankful for it sooner or later.

The rest is the usual, 3600, MSI Max, blahblah.

Hey

thanks for the tip. I had a look at configurations based on your suggestions and think I’m going to go with the Ryzen 5 3600 and RX 5700 XT combo. It’s a bit above budget but it looks like it’ll run games I like on high settings for a good length of time.

thanks again. Had no idea where to start until you replied.

Can't link to competitors here buddy, I think it's a good choice to step it up though, ultrawide 1440p is pretty demanding on the graphics card, even if they are only turn-based games! If you're not in a hurry I'd consider waiting until the new cards are out later in the year, cos prices are pretty bad right now, but maybe the pre-build market is less affected than the retail one.

My bad. Removed link. Waiting might be a shout. I think I could be patient enough until Baldurs Gate 3 has a full release.
