Anyone got any recommendatios for good sounding surround sound effect?

Money isnt as important as gettin a good set if you know what I mean.

Am not loaded but would rather spend to get quality

gotta be the beyerdynamic dt770 pro (80 ohm version)

closed and a brilliant gaming, movie and bass driven headphone

roger that.
i picked some up for my birthday. theyre superb. i can wear them all day which is great. ( i have a few piercings which are never affected by them too )
they have good isolation too. i use them when im painting in the garage and they block out the noise form my compressor. which is huge lol.

appart from all that they really do ahve to be heard to be believed.
i found out abot them fromt he head-fi forums. enough said thb !

the grados i hear are very nice but are very unfomfortable and dont have the sound stage needed for gaming. major minus :(

Rick

Many thanks guys - those in the know around t'interweb seem to agree that the dt770s are the dogs danglies so a set have been ordered for 80 notes INCL VAT!! and postage

Might be overkill just for a bit of gaming TBH, especially with the mediocre sound quality you get from most gaming soundcards.

just noticed you wanted a good sounding surround sound effect too.

if you have an X-fi the CMSS:3d is awsome IMO. but SUCKS for music lol
theres a demo video of it on the net sumwhere.

enjoy the cans. you will love em :D

I have the Sennheiser HD 205's and they are great. Awesome bass and clarity for music and very accurate reproduction for gaming. Sound great on my XFI.

Best part is that they were quite cheap.

good to hear you have chosen wisely... you did order the 80 ohm version ?

I found them a bit tight for a fit at first, I found that streching them across a book over night for about 4 days reduced the clamping force so are more comfy

I also invested in a portable headphone amp, which nicely enhanced playback from dap's

Cool...

I asked as I ordered the wrong cans first time round :D :o

easy to miss as they all look the same

I got the 250Ohm Version, but nevertheless they sound amazing.

What is the difference if you know what I mean?

errr...you made a mistake

grados are better

grados are not typically recognised as a gamers headphone

typically they are good for rock and types of music that benefit from a bright sounding presentation

all depends on the types of music you are listening to

the grados are not closed, and the OP specifically wanted isolation

so I don't know why you are recommending the grado ? plus your post isn't terribly helpful by just saying 'better' and by posting a big picture?? I can only assume you mean they look better ??
