My daughter wants a camera for her 16th birthday for outdoor photography.

I'm not entirely convinced she will actually use it as she doesn't like going outside!

Can anyone recommend a good starter camera for a maximum of £300?

I'm not against buying used as I know I'm likely to get something better that way.

Thanks
Scott

What sort of camera are you after? A compact, mirrorless or DSLR?
The compact camera market no longer exists, killed off by smartphones, so used is the only affordable option there.
The cheapest new DSLR is £450 so used is, again, the only option.
There aren't any cheap new mirrorless cameras.....

We really need to know a bit more about your daughter's intended use to be able to make realistic suggestions.

Thank you I've picked up a used Lumix FZ82. I think it'll be mainly photos of animals and landscapes. Hopefully it's a good starter for her to see if it's a hobby she likes.
