Recommended web hosting with unlimited domain add-ons

Hi all,

Currently look for some web hosting but need one that offers unlimited domain add-ons. I have no need for a resellers account as won't be needing a separate control panel for each domain.

From the other threads on the forums I would have liked to go with Tsohost or VIDAHOST but they only offer a hand full of domain add-ons.

Any recommendations?
 
Do you really need 'unlimited' domains or will a high but fixed number suffice?

'Unlimited' of any resource is technically impossible to provide because a customer might come along wanting to host 100,000 sites whereas if the provider gives an ample limit instead it prevents that kind of scenario.
 
I don't really need unlimited but I don't want to be stuck with a small capped amount and have to pay to add more. I'm really looking for any recommended companys that offer a good amount of domain addons. From the ones I've looked into so far it seems to be only a hand full or unlimited.

Will email vidahost and see what they can offer.

Also just to add it doesn't have to be a UK company.

Thats the only thing stopping me taking out a 12 month TSOHost. Paying month by month at the moment and going to try and find a good host with more than 5/6 add-on domains as I have already reached that limit!

Just a shame they charge so much for few more domains otherwise I'd stay as the server is excellent
 
With cPanel hosting, each additional domain added makes an entry to httpd.conf. As httpd.conf gets longer and the server gets busier, everytime anyone on the server adds a new domain or deletes an old domain, an Apache soft-restart starts taking a noticeable amount of time, and sites can appear down for ~20-30 seconds. For some hosting companies, this is OK. For companies like Vidahost and Tsohost - this is not... this is why they're generally held in high regard, despite their low cost.

I'm sure if you email your host, they'll have a solution they can work with you on though - if you don't ask you don't get. :)

Well I have their ultimate hosting that costs about £10 per month and iirc that includes 100 add on domains.....

Yes it is. Was perfect at the time too, as I needed to do some work in both ASP and PHP. I also have the chocie of what language to use, which is nice :)

I started a new job last month and they had some nasty expensive hosting based with a company in Chicago, USA. First thing I did was sign up with TSOHost and move across the 30 or so sites hosted with the American host.

Honestly can't fault them at all. Only company I've dealt with so far, where I can call them up and speak to someone with 2 or 3 minutes. Same goes for email support, replies within a few mins. There are a couple of sites at work hosted with fasthosts and heartinternet and actually trying to0 speak someone with regards to a problem is painful. When you have an issue with a personal site of your own time isn't much of a concern. But when it's a clients site then you basically want it sorted out asap. Trying to actually speak to someone at Fasthosts especially is painful.

Since I moved all that hosting, clients have actually called me up asking if there are problems with their sites as they now load instantly :)

I always end up pimping TSO Host, but honestly can't fault them at all and would recommend them to anyone.

99.9% uptime and very fast

one thing i like about them they dont over sell.

if he has to manty customers for the server to handle he upgrades:D
