recovering a bitlocker password or recovery key

my boss has an old pen drive with some important stuff on it he needs.

he set a password ages ago and has now forgot it and didnt save the recovery key so cant access the drive.

is there any way or tool to recover the password or recovery key?

Sorry, but from past experience, without either the password/recovery key, the data will be lost :-(

Ring up the NSA and rat your boss out as a Terrorist.

They'll be around in about a day and unlock it for you.

Probably out of luck utajoker, it's pretty standard to save the key somewhere and you are warned several times about it not be recoverable (just now).

he isnt really good on computers and probably didnt realise what he was doing.

i think i will have to format it and try some recovery program. think this might save anything?

no.... it's encrypted for a reason..

Don't take security seriously then this sort of stuff is expected.

doubtful really, as to get the bit locker encryption off, you will have to remove the MBR and create a new one. This will completely blitz everything.

Its the best way if you want for free but you have fill a lot a paper and be taken to usa, unless they just microsoft about it, did you know they are the best friends?
