Recovering product key

I have a toshiba laptop and the hard disk has failed so i bought a new one and went to install vista but the product key on the bottom of the laptop has worn away i cant read it! Does anyone know if toshiba will give me a new key if i give them the serial or is there a way to recover it from anywhere noting the original hard disk is nackered ive tried everything to recover anything off it.

I reckon they'll give you a new one providing you can prove you own the laptop. If you registered your computer, that would obviously help.
