Guys!

Another problem I have.

Basically here is the situation I have and need to fix it.

I bought one of these -

Verbatim 53004 320GB USB 2.0 - 2.5 inch External Hard Disk Drive - Red

gyazo.com/fab0a2077a2932aec683cf9a2db16ffa

I needed a quick HDD for my laptop of mine, inside the case is the HDD and its a SATA connection. I used that straight into my laptop. The laptop then messed up and I bought a brand new one, the thing is I need the files off this HDD and have now put it back in the case and hooked it up to my PC, it has all files and a version of Windows 7 installed aswell. I am not sure how to go about this to recover files from it. Is there any programs for this?

Replies would be amazing. Thanks a lot.

yeah, what do you want off it just your personall files or the whole data inc os?

best thing to use is macrium reflect and clone the drive to your new hdd,it will be an exact bootable copy of original drive

its easy, plug your external hdd into laptop, google macrium reflect,install/run it itll pick up your hdd inside the laptop and your external hdd,in macrium click clone external to internal hdd,let it do its thing, once done unplug your external drive and restart laptop, thatll be it

But when I plug it in, its asking to format my drive? And its not accessible? Even though its displayed in the device manager and so on..

ahh i se what you mean now, sorry im bit tired

idk if its asking to format it when you plug it in,could have corrupted the drive?

ive never had that happen, idk if right clicking the drive in windows and running chkdisk would help?

or click start/right click my computer/storage/disk management and see if the problem drive shows up there and right click it and make it active, maybe then it will let you access it
