Hi all,

I've just put together my new build

Ryzen 3600
Msi b450 tomahawk max
M2 drive (nvme)
Viper RAM (in bank 2 and 4)

But I'm not getting anything coming up on the monitor. I am getting a red boot light on the motherboard. All the case fans are working.

Do i need to sit the RAM in banks 1 and 3?
Update the BIOS?
or other?

Removing CMOS battery for a couple of mins sorted it out for me when I had that issue.

A2 and b2 for the ram.

If that doesn't work then it's maybe worth flashing to the latest v35 bios with bios flashback as some of the early bios were buggy.

i'd say its a bios issue, if you have a spare 1st /2nd gen ryzen pop it in to carry out a bios update start with 7C02v31 that should be able to run 3rd gen ryzens, but for best performance update to 7C02v35, regarding ram it should be in banks 2 and 4 for dual channel mode

Do I have to remove my cpu and ram to upgrade the bios? It seems a bit of a faff

No, flashback can be used with either CPU and ram in or out.

This vid shows it being done with no CPU or ram installed but it works just the same even with all the components fitted.

Just encountered a new problem.

After about three days working properly, the computer stopped booting again but this time it is the vga red light which is showing on the mb.

I have reseated the graphics card, replaced the psu lead and updated the mb bios to the latest drivers. I also plugged in a spare graphics card and it booted with that.

Am I missing anything else to try or do i contact ocuk for an rma?
