You might have heard about this already, but there are rumours/talk of the owner selling up and quitting the sport.
They're not happy they're not winning after the rule changes and Renault aren't helping!

Thoughts??

I think Red Bull have already signed up with Bernie until 2020 or similar. It's always possible Dietrich Mateschitz could sell his interest though, but then he still has Torro Rosso doesn't he?

It surprises me that they can have such a short memory, who left when they were winning? Toys and pram spring to mind.

Andi.

If Redbullshiz are going to sell anything, it will be STR to Renault and Alain Prost, which result in Team Prost #2 that will end up getting screwed over and him wrecking another team again.

F1 is a marketing strategy for Red Bull. If it doesnt pay its way they will go, just like all the other companies that use F1 as a billboard (BAR, all the car manufacturers in the 00s, etc).

Its business as usual, I don't know why people are surprised.

Considering they're fighting with their sister team who don't have the experience or budget for grid positions I can see why they're disappointed with their investment. Don't blame the engine.

No one on this website has any idea what's going on behind the scenes at RBR. You don't know what infrastructure they're investing in or what their plans are for the future. Speculation is so tiring, it's dull and uncreative.

People spent the entire 4 years RBR dominated for complaining like petulant children. Every team complained about their aero advantages and EVERY single year the FIA introduced rules to reduce the aforementioned advantage. Now that another team is winning and RBR are raising concerns people still beat them down, yet later in the season you'll all be moaning that the season was over to soon and wasn't competitive enough.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; it's so patently obvious that people hold a misplaced hatred for RBR just because they were successful without having any heritage in the sport.

I wish people could take a non biased view on F1. It's an egotistical enough sport without the fans adding to it :p. It's bad enough reading DM's wall of armchair "facts" about the sport without these sort of threads.

Two "quick" things.

1) Barely any major team moaned about RBs domiance
2) Those that did, did so, not because of their aerodyncamic advantage, but because of their aerodynamic cheat mods :p

It's not a knee-jerk reaction. They're rumoured to be looking to sell to the right party, and it's not going to happen in a year. They're looking at selling to a mammoth entry - a works teams looking for a strong, stable platform, and naturally the VAG name has already been uttered a few times.

Getting beaten by the sister less funded team is nothing new to RB, Vettel in the Toro Rosso outscored both RB drivers in the championship, no complaints at that time...

Mind you, they probably had an inkling into the performance of the 09 car around then...

Well I can't imagine they look at RBR with the same passion as the people actually part of the race team, they just look at it from a purely business point of view... Are they getting enough marketing and (positive) brand recognition to warrant the money they are putting into it.

They are no longer reigning champs, they no longer have the 4 time WDC and it looks like they have fallen even further behind as other teams have made greater improvements... Not really the publicity they are wanting.

Oh you lady part :p

Red bull just angry that merc found a legitimate way of winning ;)

I hope they leave F1. I'm sick of horners moaning.

New flavour of Red Bull launching soon, Bitter & Twisted.

Mateschitz has always said they would only stay in F1 while they were winning, otherwise it doesn't make sense for RB as a company.

However maybe they should concentrate on finding a decent engine partner and getting back to winning, rather than taking the toys out of the pram easy option :p

Hang on a minute! Aren't most of the other threads full of people saying F1 needs more teams, that there aren't enough cars, we need more competitive teams etc, etc, etc. Yet here we have the owner of 2 teams threatening to leave and the response seems to be "oh well, bye then".

Bit of a conflict, tis it not? :p. Regardless of if you like them, less teams in F1 is bad.

I hope they leave F1. I'm sick of horners moaning.

Someone might buy the team but keep him as team principle...
