Red Dead Redemption 2

So decided finally give this a proper go after trying this on and off but seem Rockstar launcher says no.

Prompting me to verify my email and presenting some completely random email with suffix that doesn't even go to a working website.

My Steam account isn't compromised, did someone managed to link their Rockstar account to my copy of the game on Steam?

I had a similar issue. I contacted Rockstar and they requested the key code used to unlock the game on Steam. Within an hour I was able to get the game running.

I get your frustration, but tbf, without access to the email account I can't really fault them on it... otherwise it would seem easier for someone else to hijack your account
People loose/change email accounts all the time. Its not exactly rare, or a big deal. Ive had my steam account since 2004. If they did some digging and actually took a little time to try and help they could easily see but they arent interested. Thats the problem. I tried a ticket twice and they just rejected it twice. Total BS.

My advice would be get a refund.

A little late to the party, I'm presuming you no longer have access to the Rockstar account using your Dad's email address and have no means to regain access? If so have you tried contacting Steam Customer Support to see what accounts are linked to your Steam account and then ask them to disconnect/remove the linked Rockstar account?

I haven't, no. I cant imagine id get anywhere with that, but might be worth a shot. Can you actually talk to someone on steam support?

But what I was getting at was, is the account associated with anything other than that email address (i.e. phone number, or authenticator app)?
As above though, if you still have time, refund via steam and then try through their support to break the link between the accounts (assuming you don't have other games linked to it), then buy it again (but as I said before, when I had similar issues with Origin it annoyed me enough to boycott EA for close to 5 years, and until they'd added MFA :P )

Should be able to, just launch R* launcher seperately or create a shortcut striaght to the game (I assume this will open the launcher though)... I've never tried as I bought it direct on R*, but I think it just activates the key against your R* account

I haven't actually played much of the campaign, most of my time was spent back when I played on RedM servers.

I have been making a little cinematic video showcasing how beautiful this game is, and now I am going to try and actually complete the story.
