Red LED strips needed!

Hi all,
2 days ago I received my new Corsair 540 case from Overclockers. Managed to make it VERY tidy on the side of the window. Now I am looking towards some LED lighting.
I want them red (or RGB), but with long enough power cable (part that has no LEDs on it but molex connector at the end) so I can get it to the other part of the case in order to connect it to the PSU. I've looked at some strips, but I am concerned that the part with molex end on it is too short, as I don't want molex connector to be visible through the window as I have everything hidden as much as possible behind the motherboard tray. And no, Corsair Link is not an option. Software is so buggy (using H80i) that I don't want it.

Thanks for any suggestions

Could you not extend the wire yourself? Solder/attach together by cutting the molex and just whacking two pieces of wire in between

Hi,

Your sig is still over 4 lines,

What is the signature for?
You may use a signature in your post. Please access your User CP (or User Control Panel) in order to specify a signature to display at the foot of your posts. You may use multiple images in your post, but combined they must not exceed 400 x 75 pixels, nor exceed 20Kb in file size. You may also have one line of normal or smaller text above or below your signature, with no spacing between text and image. If you do not have an image in your signature you may have four consecutive lines of text. These must not be padded out with blank lines. You must not use moving images in your signature. If your signature is removed by a member of the moderating team and you are unsure as to why please contact the team. Do not post complaint threads on the forums, and do not replace your signature without amending it.

I don't want to remove it again, so please edit it so it fits and is how you want it too look.

Removed it. Sorry about that. Problem is that "Preview" shows a lot different thing than actual results are.

Regarding LED strips: I've no tools for soldering, and buying some cheap crap off eBay is not a greatest option for me. Thought there are some other possibilities. I have 5m LED strip running under my PC desk, but it requires AC/DC adapter, whereas I want to use molex connector so it stays within the case.

Pro tip for you;)

Use a picture to show the lines of text.

You will be surprised how many you can fit using Microsoft paint.

as long as the picture you upload to the control panel is 400X75 and under 20kb in size you are cool.

Nah, thanks. I hate to represent something using a picture. Plain text is what I prefer.

As I've said, I have no tools to solder anything, so I can't mod things. I have quite a big bunch of different tools under my stairs, but soldering tool is not there.. :(
And great mod, though the box used for LEDs is not very appealing though(is it for brightness or power adapter? Got once in cathodes which don't fit in my case haha)

YOUR BASKET
1 x NZXT CB-LED20-RD 24x Red LED Sleeve - 2m £13.99
Total : £16.27 (includes shipping : £1.90).

Goes into a PCI bracket at the back of your case and then the molex slips through the bottom grommets, this is how I did mine and you don't see the cable's at all as is either behind the mounted HDD's or just no visible due to the case/sleeve.

You can get a small dongle type deal like the op guide in that thread. Also, you can just strip the wires, wrap them around each other and wrap them up in electrical tape :)

If it's really long enough to get behind, then here's my choice :) And I don't mind the cable itself being a bit visible, but the molex connector itself laying somewhere.

Thanks guys for suggestions, I guess that ThaReaperGuy gave me perfect option here.
Modding is not really for me. There are certain things I don't do or buy: like I own i5 4670 non K, otherwise I'd burn it if it would be K :D Or modding.. already broke few things because I wanted to mod them a bit, even though I followed step by step guide :p

Will do when I finally find my USB to my 11 years old camera haha :)
I've had 300R before, and honestly I'll never go back to this type of case (single chamber with little amount of cable management) if there's nothing that can hide all my cabling :) Could post pics of that, since I got it somewhere on MSI forum ^^

Cheers

Surprise guys! Friendly moderator of MSI forum (can call him a friend I suppose) will make me completely customised LED strip made of adufruit neopixels strip (1.5m) and microprocessor. Video below shows 1% of all possibilities I will have once it arrives :D

Whole thing, including components, delivery and his time will cost me around 50-60GBP. Mind, it's going to be from USA, and then PayPal's fees apply to this too :(
Thanks for suggestions though!
