Red Light Flashing on router...not inet

Going on minimal info here but my friend is having internet problems.

He has an Origo router (supplied by BT) and says the red light is flashing on the router - and the internet isnt working. Origo's website seems to be down (anyone have link to manual?). His PC is connecting at 54Mbps to the router - BT say the line is fine. Any ideas?
 
When we 1st got broadband and were awaiting it to start coming down the phone line, our light was red.

When it then came down the phone line the light turned to green.

Is his phone line connected to the router?

A huge possibility is...

I was having router problems when we first got our router...My PC was connecting to the router yet the Internet wasnt working...

My ICT teacher said "Your PC is picking up the signals from the router...the reason why the Internet is not working is because there are no settings input for the Internet to be transmitted through the signals"

Make sure your friend has the correct setting on his router for the Internet to come through!

sounds like it's out of sync, he needs to ring his ISP to get some checks done. (you've tried rebooting the router right?)
 
I'm sure with my old origo that mean the adsl wouldn't synchronise.

Usually temporary, and most likely caused by something further down the line. He might just have to wait and try again later.
