Ive installed it and patched to latest version 1.006. I can play over LAN with my mate but still cannot get internet play working. When I try and create an account it says

'Sorry, the 'register' server isn't available.

It may be down for maintenence. Please try again in a few minutes.'

It just says this all the time. Is there some way I can play it online either my registering an account or using someone elses

Um, Westwood got axed along with the above.

You can play using a lobby system with Gamespy, there aren't usually that many players around though.

Yeah, the first thing EA do when they take over a company is **** them up the jacksy.

It's Gamespy or nothing, there ain't no servers to create an account on anymore.

what balls. even with the new decade edition where you get them all it wont work.

C&C 3 will be a total flop i think (due to ea being rubbish)

It won't be a flop because every man and his dog will buy it, because it's Command & Conquer 3. Whether it's any good or not, is a completely different matter.

If it comes with this advertising crap I wont be willing to buy it. Shame really cause i freaking love the C&C series.

same here, all apart from tiberium sun and generals. (generals was total gash IMO)

Personally (even if it makes me seem like a surrender monkey) I'm not overly bothered by the advertising... I mean I don't need to look at it do I?

I'l be buying it reagardless for the reason you put above - I love it, and it looks amazing.

It looks slightly better than Generals. Supreme Commander looks Amazing.

I think it is a joke they don't support online play yet they have started reselling the game that advertises online play.

Maybe we can finally sue EA.

is that true about no online play in C&C?

why doesnt someone just update the resolution and graphics in starcraft. that still has a massive following and you can join a game so easily. and how old is it? years before redlalert 2

I dunno but some of these posts seem to suggest so. I know EA also killed Earth and Beyond when they took over Westwood though.

I am kinda ashamed to say I have never played Starcraft considering how big it is. I am not sure about just updated Rez, a DirectX10 remake could be nice.

i think a direct x 7 update would be nice!

I had (probably) the same mind as you, that starcraft is old and crappy and it has nasty graphics and is to spacey. once you play it for a week or so, you will see how balanced the game is and how there are many different ways to win/loose

Wasn't there a port planned for SC? Called "FreeSC" or something like that?

how do i change my servers to this XWIS? i can set xwis in redalert 1 but i still cant create an account with westwood to play redalert 2 online. Im sure i could when i first got the game, but i have since lost my account (and also had to buy the game again after loosing it!)

I'l be buying it reagardless for the reason you put above - I love it, and it looks amazing.

It's not so much the advertising, its the adware they put on your system I don't agree with. I refuse to buy any EA game with it.
