Reducing CPU temps in preparation for 1st overclock!

ok it's in! I had to press so hard to get the damn thing to click into the bracket. Hope i didn't mess around the TIM on the processor in the meatime because this HSF doesn't look like it EVER wants to come off.

And to top it off the PC blue screened on start up and my windows 7 installation is running startup repair and attempting to recover. fan-bloody-tastic

And it's all done!

I couldn't add the extra two Yate Loons because I thought they cam with molex adapters, which they didn't. Which is annoying. So will have to do that over the weekend.

But all the juicy photos are right here:

I have to glue the mesh to the platic fascia to secure it, and then install the fan in there somehow (glue, again!). But as a first mod, I'm pretty pleased with the result.

Which ever idiot engineer designed this push pin design for modern coolers needs one fixed to his forehead with the same amount of pressure that we have to apply to get them fitted.

It, too, took me a good hour to fit my third party cooler (akasa) - and by the time i had it fixed i was sweating buckets, massive stress head ache, my thumb was purple and my mobo was visibly bowing under the tension of the HS fitting - it's just nuts.

I was convinced my mobo would be knackered but it booted up and my temps are almost worth the stress of fitting.

Glad to see you got your temps sorted, good result - you should have fun clocking it.

Thanks mate. The lengths we'll go to to eke out a few extra degrees eh! Think I'll edit my post to actually include the photos and stop being lazy.
