Hi Guys, wonder if someone can help. Installed a Pred 360 yesterday and it's fantastic, really happy with it as it's knocked a good 10c ish off my H110 GT at Prime95 load

Only niggle is is that I'd like to run the Varder's as slow as possible at idle, and my Asus X99-A only drops them to 60% at its lowest point.

What are my options? Not upto speed with fan controllers and the like, always just let the motherboard do it (but I do realise that these are high performance fans, and as such have an 'edge' to them even at 60%)

I don't mind a bit of noise at load, but at idle I like my system to be as silent as possible for watching TV eps/movies...

cheers

Si

A basic 5.25 bay fan controller would be ideal. I use an akasa FC6. Allows fans to be turned off altogether if required. 30 watts per channel so you can run a multitude of fans.

Sounds ideal m8, but I'm running a Define S :p :(

But yes, I'm def edging towards a fan controller as it's easily within reach. If only I had a bloody bay handy!!! :D

Just wondered if their was a more cost-effective and simpler solution that I hadn't thought of...

7v type converter available for a pwm fan? I wouldn't mind losing a little top-end performance for a better sound profile at idle

Hell, I can always put my case under my desk again and that'd solve it! Would rather not though

WARNING, NOOB MISTAKE ALERT!!!!!!

Damn, cpu fan was set to DC instead of PWM ffs!!! Now set to 20% at idle. It's def taken the edge off :D

Sorry guys, my Google-Fu was weak :(
