Reducing fat...

Okay, i've had a quick browse of the sticky and have a couple of questions... quite a lot of any of the 'lose fat' or 'cutting' diets / exercise routines seem to be focussed around specific diets, specific foods and so on - which is quite a big problem for me as i am a very fussy eater, so could not see myself eating or drinkin protein shakes or whatever else...

I'm not overweight at 6ft1 and 12 and a half stone, just about the top end of the BMI scale for ideal, taking it down to 22 would be my main goal.

Can i, through exercise alone reduce my body fat? I used to weigh ~15stone and somehow got down to about 12 through doing no exercise, it just... dropped off, no explanation for it.. but obviously all that is there is fat, and no muscle, and it needs 'toning'.

What can i do? I'd like to build my upper body strength, as i've never been able to do the likes of push ups / pull ups very well, and i'm quite unfit.

Thanks in advance for any replies :)

Why don't you get extra protein from stuff like tuna (awesome - 25g/can) or chicken breast? You would have to be extremely fussy not to be able to eat those.

Diet is really the most important (and easy) part of getting fit and losing fat. But yes, with a bit of work you can lose a stone or so, provided you are in a calorie defecit, which most people aren't...

BMI is a very bad way of measuring yourself. Go by the mirror. :)
