Redundant AGAIN

We are hiring UI and UX specialists in Shoreditch. You'd probably find us a bit pedestrian compared to those other companies and products you listed.

Looking to move on? I had someone from your place contact me a little while ago saying they had a couple of roles, had only just moved jobs though so didn't follow it up.

Outsourced to T-Systems and now a year later being outsourced to Cognizant, any other option would be considerable right now lol

hahaha nope :p

Too bad.

There's work around for translators, depending of course on what exp one has and level of language (written). You would only translate to your native language and normally one would earn .03 pence per word or more depending on the type of text.

hahaha nope :p

Nice website.

Have you thought about using Twitter search to find people looking for designers? Ideas like that? You can use Google search and the advanced feature to select the last week or so and play around with keywords so that you find people that are looking for designers?

I looked at your Twitter as well, as a freelance web designer theres 1000's around so you need to stand out, a way you can do that is by using tools like www.tweepi.com to build your following. If it is a case of needing a big portfolio you could spend a bit of time on fiverr and upsell and then spinoff from there when you get a name for yourself?

cheers :)

yeah it's all about networking the one thing I'm not good at :( (I sit in a darkened room coding lol)

thanks for the ideas and sympathy all and I'm sorry to hear about others in the same position too :(

I have had a letter today, not sure if I am going to be caught up in it ,or not, 2013 started bad and got worse

Really don't know what to do anymore

Linked In, tis the way forward for my company anyway!
Best way to network, never know what you can find :)

Redundancy is a ball ache, especially at this stage of the economy.

Bad news :( Good luck with the hunt.

11,000 (globally) to be made redundant from my place this year. Anyone who wants to get into IT nowadays must be mad.

Regarding Linked In I've had quite a few approaches over the years from agents on Linked In so it's worth spending a bit of time on your profile there.

Doh, guess if you're looking at options just start applying for anything around there!

Least there are a fair few places to try in Brizzle ;)

I have to deal with Cognizant on a daily basis for a few clients and the work they do for them is awful.

They are little different from most of the large outsourcing companies. It's not really in their interest to be efficient. They want to charge per head so inefficiency is good for them. Most of these companies also have a high staff turnover so keeping knowledge is difficult.

Interestingly I've had a few approaches recently to go and work in India doing my current job. I'm not tempted though.
