Im trying to reference the USA PATRIOT Act in a report but i have no idea how to do it?
Can anybody help me (my google skills fail

just look at the patriot act online and use the guide for an online reference from the above link, its the best guide ive found!

Every uni does it differently. You might want to check your handbook first.

This has never let me down, very clear and exhaustive explanation of the havard system.

For this I would follow the act of parliament layout, and append the online source to the reference i.e. Available at: http://epic.org/privacy/terrorism/hr3162.pdf [accessed 17/03/2010]

It even varies in my uni department. Normally I just use endnotes (as my reports are all scientific and therefore brief and efficient), but when I'm writing review articles I can include a reference in the text in the format bla bla bla (Bloggs, 2004), with it being in a references section at the end of a document.

My gosh I hate that program. But find myself moving back to it and away from bibtex again and again.
