I have two drives C and D. I transferred all my important things onto D and I'm going to reformat and install windows again on C. I won't lose all the stuff on D will I?
The best idea would be to physically unplug the hard-drive that corresponds to that drive letter though - bit drastic, but stops you accidentally formatting the wrong one. (they need to be two physical drives to do this obviously)
it may be a good idea to remove the cable for your backup drive whilst you reinstall , just to give you that peace of mind . but when you reinstall windows asks which drive you want to install on .
maybe a good idea to ghost your c drive o its easier for future reinstalls
ghost refers to norton ghost or an imaging software eg true acronis you install xp and the programs no that wont cause any bother then you take an image of the install then if anything goes wrong you can reinstall it quick as.....
