Refresh rate

Just got hold of a lovely new Samsung 940b (No dead pixels - yay!!). What refresh rate should I be running at in games and in Windows? Currently I am at 60Hz which the manual recommended.

that's the recommended and optimum refresh rate for a TFT. Best to leave it at that

Noob question :

What does the refresh rate do ?? and what would be the best refresh rate for a 19 inch relysis CRT (using an X850)

well on a CRT it controls the rate at which the cathode ray gun redraws the image across the screen. Have it too low and you can see it refreshing and you may experience eye strain and headaches. However, try to set it too high and your screne might not support it. See what options are available, but i would aim for at least 85Hz if you can

TFT's it's different though
