Yup you could very well encounter excessive IPS glow especially with it being acer... but you run the risk of getting some problem with any monitor these days, be it dead pixels, backlight bleed, marks on the screen etc. Unfortunately the QC seems to have gone to
**** with monitors lately
The main thing, which matters with monitors now (imo) is the customer service so unfortunately that rules out a lot of manufacturers now, thankfully asus seem to be getting a bit better now.
The screen adjusts so you can quite simply lower or tilt the monitor if you're leaning back?
I've had no issue with colour shift on the Swift.
I tend not to have my head too far to the left or right...
I also don't see what the issue with the coating is, I don't find the monitor grainy at all and it works well if there's any sunlight hitting the screen. I guess if you dwell in a basement it's not for you
Yes, you can do that with any monitor but it requires faff for every time you want to sit at a different angle
Like motion clarity etc. I think contrast shift is just something that varies from person to person, some are more sensitive to it than others, there were a few people in the swift thread who came from using IPS monitors and couldn't cope with the contrast shift so had to send it back.
As for the coating, it is something you will notice when the monitor is next to a monitor with a very light anti-glare coating:
The coating massively impacts the contrast plus clarity/sharpness of the screen
I find it is even noticeable in very bright lighting, my monitor sits next to a big velux window and I can notice the difference between my dell u2311h and lg 29um65 anti-glare coating.
Best way to see just how much of an impact anti-glare/matte coatings have on image quality is too buy a few anti-glare/matte screen protectors for your mobile phone/tablet.
