REFURB H100 - STOPS AT RANDOM

Just checked the manual. Would appear the default setting for Q-Fan control is Disabled and as you've no idea on the settings we can assume it is, indeed, disabled.
If it's the fans that are stopping then you could just run them of another header with software to control them. If it's the actual pump that's stopping then you may have to replace it. When it stops is the pump still lit up?

*edit*

You could easily pop into the bios to check the Q-Fan setting, just to make sure. If this cooler was bought to replace an air cooler, and the old cooler's fan would speed up/slow down according to the temp then there is definitely some sort of fan control running in the background, which we do NOT want. Could even be AI Suite.

The lights go off too.

Now that adds up as it's only started recently. Have you a spare PSU you can test with? Or can you confirm that voltage with a DMM cos it's well out of spec and would explain the cooler stopping.

Are you getting that from the AI Suite? If so, just ignore it. The monitoring software is awful, that is not correct!

Use HwInfo to get a better idea of your volts. TBH though, you'd encounter BSODs if you had any major issues.

Yes, I've disabled AI suite.

Panic over, one of the molex pins on the cooler got dislodged, it was bust when I got but i'd forgotten about it, then had a eureka! moment and checked it.

Molex - Bloody stupid things, eh. Flimsy, fussy, rickety pieces of *beep*, made worse when you get such tiny wires like the H100s have. I'm actually considering rewiring mine...

Yep. They're so outdated, and you're right the wires on the H100 are far too short. I'm gonna try and tape it in place if I get more trouble, I was dreading another faff with another cooler too. Coolers have easily caused me more stress than anything else. Performance wise though the H100 is excellent, it can get noisy but it's downed out by gaming anyway so it doesn't matter. Surprised that none of us, me primarily, never suggested checking it was connected properly!

doh!

:)
