And consumers should be out for the best deal and to not let companies bend them over and trick them to buying less for more. Either way you'll never get all customers to agree, trying to argue and complain at every individual user is futile but expressing annoyance at the companies willing to take advantage or even just persistently use the situation to make the overall scene worse for everyone is fair game in my mind as Nvidia tend to use it as a reason to try and increase prices across the board. If this was just temporary then it'd be cool, I'd not really care but each time it's just another 3 month delay or a way to shoe horn prices to be higher long term and across all the cards. Nvidia aren't evil but as a consumer they're simply headed the wrong way for me by overpricing cards, by the time they come down in price there is always competition or only a few months before one of there new cards that will be equally overpriced. You end up with 2 choices, be ripped off or look elsewhere and as someone who wouldn't mind buying a Nvidia card then I'm simply not buying it because they never priced it right at the right time.Companies are around to make as much money as they can, not do anybody any favours.
If they can sell the products at grossly inflated prices then they will.
If people refuse to pay the asking price, it will eventually come down. They can't sit on unsold stock for too long.
There are plenty of people who must have the latest shiny toy straight away though, whatever the cost, and nvidia know this.
Don't like the price? Then don't buy the product. Simple.
Either way anyone can have fun but I don't see why price is such a touchy issue for some. You're getting ripped off, simple. You might not care (as most don't) and that's your choice but if AMD fails at performance people spend months talking about lack of competition or whatnot, pricing is another part of competition and in my eyes Nvidia are currently not competing on price and so don't catch my eye any more. I'd like to buy Nvidia at times but there's never usually a good time to buy a Nvidia card unless price is just not a concern for the customer and that's not really beneficial for customers or the community in my mind. Money is a personal thing though, I bought the dark souls exclusive first 4 figures artorias statue at £385, some wouldn't want to spend that on something like that either but there's a difference between a price being high because it's limited edition, few out and larger than standard prodcution for example or just simple price gouging that doesn't match the standard pricing of previous models and no reason other than Nvidia wants to. Money is down to the consumer choice but Nvidia are the ones simply ripping some off.
