Hi all

I've searched everywhere to find out some information about the release of the ASUS/EK colab and can't find anything. Purchase quite a few times from OC but does anyone know if this will become available here?

Sorry if this has been posted before I tried searching for a thread on this but couldn't see one!

January/February.

Along with every other 3080.

I was under the impression it was being released in November, just wasn't sure if OC was going to have it on release day..

I don’t think you have, I watched a live stream from ASUS DIY on Facebook and he stated it hasn’t been released yet.. I’ve heard it’s rumoured 14th December in NA approx so keep an eye on it!

Ah really? Can you get the pictures I’d love to see it.. i think there’s a good chance it’s an early access sample, could be wrong though!

Thanks for that I found it! Does look good, I’ve got a vertical mount “IF” I manage to get hold of one though, I have the 011D too so hopefully it will look as good

From the ASUS DIY video it’s clear this is a reference spec card vs being something like a TUF which I was a bit surprised by. I do wonder though if the FE cards get better binned chips. It’s all academic just now as both are seemingly unicorns!

I do however like the single slot and low height of this card, horizontal space in my case (O11D XL) isn’t so bad but some of these 3080’s are tall and once the inlet/outlet is added I doubt I’ll get the side panel on, I had been looking at some the EVGA cards for this reason, but those are the same price plus the cost of water lock and back plate... ah decisions :D

Yeah I see what you mean, I currently have a 3070 FE at the moment and it's actually quite reasonably sized.. I'm not too sure as a comparison what this EK card will be like but it just doesn't appear to be enormous like the others.

Do you really think you'll sturggle with space having an XL, mine isn't an XL.. I use the 011D Distro plate for my loop, do you have a reservoir and pump installation?

My PC just after filling for the first time, pic is easier than words ;)

My rig with a Strix 1080Ti and Phanteks block (142mm deep) doesn't have a massive amount of space between the terminal block and side panel, around 10mm I think at the most, even though it looks more in the picture. Looking at the EK 3080 Strix block its 154mm, the MSI trio is 157mm. Lian Li quote the maximum depth of the GPU as 169mm, so should be ok...

So yes, I think its tight/not going to work with some of the AIB cards, leaving only a vertical mount as an option. Not something I'm adverse to but plumbing it up looks like a pain in the ***!

edit - reading on reddit and someone confirmed the strix 3080 wont fit in a non XL.

That just looks fanastic even without RGB.. I was sceptical about how it would look with so much space but it does look great!

Yeah I agree, but the plumbing size of it is the fun part! (Providing it doesn't leak..). r/edit - I see, I think either way I'm going to have to try something out with my normal before considering getting the XL!

Thanks

I wish I’d gone for a thicker rad in the bottom to hide the mobo connectors on the bottom edge and to use some of the space. I’ve got 3 of the new Lian Li fan kits coming tomorrow so I’ll go posh pull on the bottom which should achieve the same thing without it becoming too full. I like the large amounts of open space having only ever had small cases which were crammed!

Plumbing, I was thinking in a vertical mount would need to run behind the card, but I saw someone doing it with the tubing running on the glass side of the case which would be far easier to measure up and fit than if it was behind the card. I’ll probably go down that route. Handily the outflow appeared to align perfectly with the distro plate!

We have these, but we simply cannot sell anything at present simply due to demand far exceeding supply so at present all GPU stock that does not have back orders is quarantined until a later date and won't be available over the phone or online.

How many you got? Not sure why you'd hold them back though unless you literally have like 2 to sell, regardless of pre-order numbers. It's a fairly niche product tbh.

I'd be interested in purchasing one, dependent on price. Currently have a loop en route and this would be great! :D

Because we may use them for an internal project, we simply cannot risk over selling on any more products and we won't take orders over the phone simply as our phone lines and staff cannot handle 1000+ people trying to call in, hence all stock is quarantined and not available.
