Quick question....looking for decking for new house and have found some great product....only issue appears to be that they only sell to 'Trade' so was wondering how would I go about getting myself set-up so that they can then sell to me?

Is it fairly straight forward are are we looking at a nice long winded, red tape hurdle strewn minefield?

Cheers

Ring them up and ask them what they need off you to set up a trade account.

Probably just a trading name.
Make one up. :D

Shelster and Sons. :D

Go in looking a bit scruffy. Not many places will turn away a cash buyer.

Failing that, make yourself some letterheads or business cards.

I would imagine they'd need far more than that, most certainly a company number and most probably a VAT number. But as above, give them a call or try and signup online if they have that facility.

Doubt they'd need a VAT number, so many small businesses wouldn't qualify then.

Hello Im Shelster Decking and Fencing, can I have a trade account please?

Ive managed to blag a few trade accounts with discount before with the above approach and theyve never asked for anything other than a business name and address. Obviously depends on the supplier but TradePoint at B&Q was surprisingly easy to get.
