Registering for a doctor. A delectable rant by codec

you diagnosed yourself with flu, despite not being able to pee, pooing blood, and not feeling ill, thats simply not the flu. Not being able to pee, for 2 days, you should get some help.

If you're losing a half pint of blood in your bowels or stomach, a decent doctor would keep you under observation for a few hours incase you're bleeding internally and not send you away, its an incredibly stupid thing to do. Likewise theres ways of looking at your insides without cutting you open and other tests that can be done. Or simply have you sit there for a few hours till you can go again and check you don't die of blood loss in the meantime.

I diagnosed myself with flu because that's what I had, the flu is what triggered the diarrhoea - I didn't think I needed to state flu symptoms here but: for the 2 days that I had it I had giddiness, loss of appetite, tingling on my skin.

I thought they should have kept me in at least for a short while until they could see if I was under any immediate danger but no, they checked for blood pressure, they checked my oestrogen levels etc which came back fine, and tbh if it wasn't for the blood I would be none the wiser. But that's not the case. I know the next time I go toilet there will be more blood, with more time for what ever is causing this to damage me even more. and the only thing that can stop it is a stupid bank statement.

Imagine if it was something serious and I died. Turned away because of no bank statement. It really does sound like a waste. I mean it is literally a 1 minute walk, I could have just asked the receptionist to come with and I'd show her if it meant saving my life.

Just fall over in the GP, start spazzing out and spill the pooey blood everywhere. Ambulance will come and get you, sorted.

It is a bit odd to require certain documents. I would have thought passport and driving licence would be fine. You only need to prove you are a UK citizen, why do they need to prove where you live?

Sorry, but "giddiness, loss of appetite, tingling on my skin" doesn't sound like any flu I've ever had!

But of course this is descending into a medical thread, so it'll get closed.

However, with those symptoms (if you aren't exaggerating) I would have expected at the very least a sample of your blood to be taken and an ultrasound of your kidneys.

Proof of address is common in cities because GP's have fairly strict catchment areas, you're meant to go to the one closest to your house, whereas nhs dentists you can offer reasons such as being close to work.

That being said, I've always assumed council tax IS a utility bill, I know strictly it's not, but if one accepts one it usually accepts that other, pretty retarded that they wont, did you explain your situation that you don't have the required documents? Have you not changed the address on your driving licence?

Goto the hospital? If you have a problem go there........ If you want things to take a while goto your GP.

KaHn

Just leave the sample with the girl on the desk, then walk out.

She'll sort you out an appointment, quick sharp! ;)
