Download latest graphics and modo drivers.
Install XP.
Install Mobo Drivers
Install Graphics
Install Mouse
Install Keyboard.
Install Monitor.
Install Network.
Firewall on.
Windows Update.
Install Anti Virus.
Install Sound.
Install the rest.

Can't fault that bar the fact that you may wish to download the latest drivers either before formatting or install the NIC drivers first so you can access the net.

Cheers all. Access from lappy so ok. I used drivergrabber for the first time so hope the drivers are on there and i just point device manager to the usb stick. Or is it better to DL them separate?

Personally I'd download them, you bound to get newer versions.

also, better off slipstreaming SP2 into your xp disc (well creating a new disc with SP2 in it already)

look for the 272mb xp sp2 file, and nlite

copy xpdisc to C:\xpcd, point nlite at that, then use service pack and create ISO modes

burn to a new disc
