Hi, My 13 yr old grandson is having an issue with his Overclockers PC that he brought at Christmas. His Roblox software falls over a couple of minutes after opening. He’s been through all the troubleshooting advisories. As an aside he thinks his Microsoft Account has been hacked as he can no longer access this - and he’s also done the troubleshooting for that with no success.
So we think the best way forward is to do a fresh reinstall of W11 but don’t want to lose the original setup partition that presumably came preinstalled by Overclockers with all the drivers etc.

I’m concerned that if I just do a clean install I’ll lose all these setup files. Anybody able to point me in the right direction in doing the reinstall please?

Many thanks.

Any setup files can be downloaded, I wouldn't worry about those.

How large is the set-up partition? Can it be copied to a usb stick just to have as a back up?

Once you've got them backed up you can first try the "Reset this PC" option within your current windows 11 install that might be more straightforward as it's basically a fresh install anyway.

Oh that’s a good idea. I have an external disk that will do the job. Thanks

never bought a pre built pc from ocuk
a screenshot of disk management would be useful
there's various things you could put
in a partition
including the windows installer
or a backup image

drivers as long as you have ethernet/WiFi ones
doesn't really matter
since will be newer versions anyway

All sorted now. Thanks for your help. Just need to persuade him to stop downloading from the web!!!

would be a good time
to make a baseline image file
so you can just recover to it if any
future problems
if store an image on a solid state drive
it's far faster to recover it than it is
messing around trying to fix it
