Reinstalling WAR

Had it - im sick of wow - full of numpties and a guild so set in its ways that when it claims their raids are designed to 'accomodate all players' - ironically, a selcet few members are ALWAYS in the raid regardless of who else wants to come - good job guys, very democratic. ffs. Wish some people realised there was a wolrd outside of the WoW one they perpetually inhabited.

Anyway, im tempted by WAR again - great graphics etc and hopefully a bit better combat wise now. LOTRO was alittle stilted with its combat which put me off - so hopefully WAR will entice me once more. LOTRO was by far the best looking of course.

Server suggestions please? is it easy to resurrect an old account?
 
Im a bit tempted to install WAR again too, got to level 20ish last time and got sick of the bugs etc.

Does anyone still play from here anymore?

Yeh, wow is a dire game with dire people in it.
 
The official thread has dropped off, which I think explains a lot.

Its much, much better than it used to be, but still needs a lot of work. I'm waiting for patch 1.3 before I resub, which is meant to have some major RvR/Keep reworking. Its the endgame which suffers, apparently - I got to 33 before I gave in, its a real slog being that low and up against L40 RR60+ players who give you a real kicking...

Yup same here got to 32 but didn't want to PVE or grind to 40 to join in the end game which actually is pointless. I think to keep people subbed all they had to do was change slightly their game.

If they had scenarios for 30-39 and a differnent set for 40+ it would have worked beautifully. However playing at 32 you are left with horrible quests (0.25-0.5% XP per handin whole quests including kills giving 1-2% XP) playing in scenarios leeching XP from others who don't want you there and will actually leave your team to avoid you or PQ grinding for hours and hours.

Also the game loses direction in T4. I basically got fed up getting lost in T4 maps as well most of them are a nightmare to get around I could see where I wanted to be but not how to get there.

I'm going to resub when 1.3 comes out as well.
 
One thing I liked about it, which is obviously unintentional and caused by the poor end-game, is how well populated T1/2/3 are.

Unlike games such as WoW, where people power-level to end game leaving the early parts empty, people re-roll frequently on WAR and tend to "give up" once they hit T4.

I loved T1, nice to have the RvR without everyone hiding in keeps all the time. Less abilities too, so there' less of the endless CC and AoE, more of a simpler game.
 
T1-3 were all very active when I last played (over a month ago, subs have expired). T4 was just too similar to WoW in terms of pointless raids for gear and repetative PvP for pointless rewards.

Doubt I'll resub, too many other games I'm interested in that are in development. Especially Mortal Online, which looks like it could be a laugh.
 
WAR is all I play atm with many alts mainly on K8P my highest lvl is 35 black orc. So i have not encountered proper end game yet. I have been playing a few months and its already changed quite a bit with balances and keep upgrades. As much as its definitely not as polished and bug free as it should be I cant get enough of it :D and enjoy the more focused pvp gameplay/ live events compared to other mmo's
