I have Win 7 installed on my SSD along with a couple of my most used programs.

I have a second HDD drive which is partitioned into 4 drives.

- Data Drive (for all my downloads/documents/pics etc)
- Music Drive (this houses my mp3 library)
- Programs Drive (This is where the majority of programs/games are installed)
- Audio Drive (This is full of audio samples/instruments for music creation)

The windows libraries are pointing to the Data Drive

I am wanting to reinstall windows (for a number of reasons) on the SSD.

What are the issues I need to look out for? I sorted my system this way as I thought it would make life easier if i needed to ever reinstall my OS, but now I'm not too sure!

you will probably need to reinstall your programs, easist way to get stuff setup. Just point installer where you want to install to.

libares might get ownership issues so move stuff into another folder, and move back after reinstall

Since you will have to reinstall programs when reinstalling windows, i find it's not worth keeping them on a separate drive. (Also you lose the main benefit of having an SSD - having those programs open very snappily.)

I have data, music, games on separate drives, but most programs go on the system SSD.

Just disconnect the HDD, carry out the reinstall, reconnect the HDD point the user directories at the relevant drives. Format the programs drive and reinstall the programs you require. Some to the SSD some to the HDD, your choice.
